Something no one really talks about is the final exercise after P company. Can you tell us what to expect?
Just to add to this. FINAL EX is a confirmation exercise which means that you will be assessed on the all the tactical and fieldcraft skills you have learnt. It is also your opportunity to demonstrate to your instructors that you are READY to pass out as a fully trained paratrooper and join your battalion. Expect long days, little sleep, various attacks, ambushes, tabs, hard routines.

How does para training differ from line infantry training at catterick?
CIC (PARA) is delivered by PARA Coy meaning all your instructors will be Paratroopers. ITC is a multi capbadge environment and if you are joining a line infantry regiment there are no guarantees you will be trained by a member of your intended regiment.
Whereas with us you will have experienced Paratroopers who can tailor the course to ensure you reach our high and exacting standards. PARA Coy staff know precisely what is required and know the high standards needed to join a battalion. We will also physically prepare you for the rigours of P Company before handing you over to P Company staff.

What about 4 PARA are they only taught by Paras on CIC or is it different with the Army reserve?

Not sure if this is a training question exactly, how are people selected for the marksman rifle? Is there a cadre similar to how the Rifles do it? Or are people from the rifle coys just selected?
