What is the food actually like during basic training considering the vast amount of cardio you’ll be doing?

Meals are pretty rushed. Breakfast you have a choice of either bacon, sausage, eggs, fried toast and beans or porridge or cereals. Lunch , dinner and NAAFI break is a mix of all sorts but the food is great

Lads will always slate the food but when you are fatigued and hungry it always tastes good, trust me.

There will be a cookhouse on site run by Sodexo. Cheap as chips but there will also be kitchen areas in the blocks with hobs, ovens and microwaves.

Food at the cookhouse is actually quite nice but you will have to learn to eat a lot in fast time as some days you will only get 5-10 mins to get it into you especially with the new social distancing rules by the time you get to eat you have to be back out on the lines

What sort of options do you get and how often do you actually eat? Is it breakfast , lunch and dinner or is there more breaks?

Breakfast: 2x Sausages 2x bacon 3x Hash-browns with the options of fried eggs, fried bread, beans and yogurt

Lunch: This is different everyday which can range from pasta, chips, chicken, burgers, yogurt or fruit etc

Dinner: Burgers, pork, chicken, pasta, chips, curly fries, fish, pizza etc plus vegan options

you will also on nights you had pt get extra wee snacks like fruit yogurt bars and some either orange/apple juice or chocolate milk.

If the section commander on duty that night is in a good mood and you ask nicely you may get took down to the naafi with your platoon but later on in training you will be able to go by yourself
