All great ideas above, I'd only add that if you're maxing out, try adding antagonistic training. It's a climbing trick that reversing the exercise greatly helps your overall strength, without adding bulk.

For pullups that doesn't mean do pushups! Anatagonistic pullups are starting in the "up" position and then slowly lowering yourself under control to the hang position. Doesn't matter how you get "up", so you can do more even if you've maxed out your ability to lift yourself.
